A Polaroid Story — Total artist perspective.

Ever wondered what it’s like to have a club full of turnt kids screaming at you on stage? Well, wonder no more. A new documentary by Belgian filmmaker Willy Crank captures Harlem rapper A$AP Ferg – also known as Trap Lord, Fergenstein and Hood Pope – backstage at his Hundreds show in Berlin this summer in a revealing new light.

The short film follows photographer Elisabeth Ouni as she meets and shoots Ferg for her analogue hip hop project A Polaroid Story. The camera hangs back, verité-style, as Ouni does the subject-documentarian dance with a skeptical Ferg and finally wins his trust to get her perfect shot. Then, Crank follows Ferg through his short, explosive set from a rare POV perspective.

Visit Ouni’s website for more of her up-close-and-personal polaroids of some of the biggest names in the rap game.
