Central Cee, SZA, Slawn and more to take part in big Sudan fundraiser

Freedom For Sudan — Taking place January 6-12, the auction includes chances to meet musicians, tickets to shows, original art and mentoring sessions.
A new initiative, Freedom For Sudan, is set to hold an auction in partnership with global artists to raise money for Sudan’s severe humanitarian crisis.
All donations will go towards Sudanese non-profit organisations, providing immediate aid, essential medical care and food assistance.
Following Sudan’s 70th Independence Day, the auction will be held in partnership with artists, musicians and such as The Weeknd, SZA, PinkPantheress, 2hollis, Slawn and Central Cee, mobilising global creative communities to raise life-saving support.
The auction will run via GalaBid online from January 6 – 12, offering one-off access to experiences like hanging out with SZA, having your picture drawn by PinkPantheress, original art by Slawn, tickets to see The Weeknd, a private dinner cooked by a Sudanese community kitchen and mentoring and feedback sessions with Akinola Davies Jr. and keiyaA.
Sudan has faced a continued civil war since 2023, facing one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, tackling famine and displacement that is affecting millions.
All proceeds from the auction will go towards Sudanese non-profits, helping the Sudanese American Physicians Association, the Mattar Blue Movement, emergency response rooms in El Fasher, and community kitchens, to provide urgent food and medical relief to those suffering in Sudanese communities.
Announced on January 2 via Instagram, the initiative aims to “support the people of Sudan in their mission to end the violence and exploitation and rebuild with a civilian government”.
GalaBid are currently accepting early donations, with the auction officially opening on January 6 at 11am and closing on January 12 at 11pm.
