Spanish skateboarder Danny León pulled off a huge aerial trick in front of last evening’s solar eclipse.
Sharing the clip on social media, he skated in an open field, coupling the trick with a board grab at the precise moment the moon completely covered the sun.
Describing the moment in the caption, he wrote [translated by Huck]: “The trick of a lifetime: Eclipse mode! Good things come in threes.”
He continued: “First the sun, then the moon, and today we’re making history with the eclipse. Thanks to the whole team for making this possible.”
Hailing from Madrid, and coming out of the city’s iconic Móstoles skatepark, the 31-year-old skater has been a regular on the global and European circuit, and has competed at the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games.
Yesterday evening, millions across Europe gathered to watch the solar eclipse, with the moon totally covering the sun in parts of north and central Spain, Portugal and areas in Greenland and Iceland. Areas in the UK saw over 90% coverage, with over 95% of the moon being covered in Cornwall.
