Video: Snowboarder Bode Merrill’s absolutely nuts retrospective

Broken Mechanism: A short film featuring Bode Merrill

Broken Mechanism: A short film featuring Bode Merrill

"His fear mechanism is broken." Bode Merrill is an unstoppable force in modern snowboarding. Over his career, he has proven that fear is a secondary consideration to progression, that having a vision of the seemingly impossible can become reality. "Broken Mechanism" is a look back at what Bode has accomplished on a snowboard and leaves us only with our imaginations for what he has in store for the future. --- Broken Mechanism Presented By Salomon Snowboards anon. Broken Mechanism — Phenomenal archive footage showing veteran snowboarder Bode Merrill’s wildest stunts.

“He’s completely nuts but really calculated about really nuts.”

A new video from Snowboard Magazine pays tribute to Utah snowboarder Bode Merrill. Broken Mechanism includes interviews and a collection of archive footage – film and digital cuts, backcountry and urban boarding – a stellar compilation of Merill’s fearlessness.

A creative and well-rounded rider, Merrill is known for his closing parts in Absinthe’s Neverland (2009) and Heavy Mental (2014). The 29-year old is on the cover of Snowboard Magazine’s Detour Issue, out this month. Edited by Cody Rosenthal, the retrospective vid will make you wanna get our your board from the closet.
