A tequila-inspired menu to spur chefs on

Our friends at i-D magazine recently threw a tequila night to show how the Mexican drink is being redefined.
They teamed British chef and food writer Gizzi Erskine up with luxury tequila brand Don Julio to create an innovative Mexican tasting session at Kachette in Shoreditch. Erskine rose to the challenge, putting together a menu featuring sea bass ceviche served with yazu and cumquat and chipotle short rib quesadillas.
To accompany the food, Don Julio Brand Ambassador Deano Moncrieffe curated a tequila tasting experience featuring cocktails such as La Primavera, the Paper Heart, a Don Julio Los Altos Margarita, and Don Julio Anejo Old Fashioned for the guests who included Mark Ronson and wife Josephine De La Baum, Millie Mackintosh, Jamie Reynolds, Dominic Jones and Lou Hayter.
The event brought out an unexpected side of contemporary Mexico and aimed to inspire fresh and original ways to enjoy and experience tequila and food. What’s your favourite dish to have with tequila?
