The Growlers

California has long left a dent on global youth culture. As kids across the planet look to Hollywood for their lead – suppin’ Frappuccinos like they’re straight off Sunset – further down the coast a group of salty Costa Mesa chillers The Growlers have become the sound of a transforming surf scene.
We sent rad Encinitas-based photographer Embry Rucker over to the Growlers pad to shoot them for HUCK 40, check out the gallery above for a bunch of awesome shots that we just couldn’t fit into the magazine.
