Master and his muse — Huck follows veteran street photographer Harold Feinstein as he shoots and reflects in his fairground hometown.

Harold Feinstein was born in Coney Island in 1931. With the street as his backdrop and the public as his muse, Feinstein began shooting photos at just fifteen and has amassed an epochal body of work over the following seven decades that tells the story of this curious part of the world.

In this film, exclusive for Huck magazine, Harold – now eighty-three – takes a trip back to his formative haunt to shoot some photos and reflect on a life spent capturing all the colours of the carnival.

You can read more about Harold and see a folio of his Coney Island photography in Huck 46: The Documentary Photography Special II, out September 8.
