Making It DIY — Courtney Barnett explains how she conquered the music world from her Melbourne bedroom.

For a self proclaimed slacker, Courtney Barnett is surprisingly industrious. After recording her first EPs in her Melbourne bedroom and putting them out on her own label Milk! Records, she’s currently in the middle of a gruelling run of live shows in Europe and the US, surfing a growing wave of positive reaction to her early releases. Courtney’s debut album (again largely recorded in her bedroom) is out later in the year and Huck caught up with her to hear more about the DIY approach that has already carried her so far.

Huck spoke to Courtney at The Great Escape Festival, but you can catch her in London at Field Day on Saturday, June 7. Hit her site for tons more dates in Europe and the US.
