Greece still looks stunning in this video postcard

Spontaneity just seems to pull people towards Greece.
Leonard Cohen was wandering London’s East End on a bleak and rainy day in April 1960, trying to distract himself from a toothache, when he noticed a Bank of Greece sign. Inside, he spotted a clerk with deep tan, defiantly wearing a pair of wayfarer shades. They started talking about the sun, the sea and mountains and Cohen decided to go to Greece on the spot. Once there, he found a home among a community of artists on the island of Hydra, where he was inspired to abandon novels in favour of writing songs.
From the opening view of the Acropolis from atop the mountains surrounding Athens, to the surreal beauty of Meteora’s sandstone spires, the images in this video remind us why Greece has drawn in generations of poets, writers and photographers.
This video postcard comes from Instagrammer Allie Taylor who travelled to Greece for Teva — whose own origin story also mixes sun, water and spontaneity. The sandal’s for adventurers were first fashioned by a Grand Canyon river guide out of a pair of old flip flops and two velcro watch bands because he wanted a show that wouldn’t float away.
So if you’re looking for a creative breakthrough, maybe it’s time to heed the call of the mountains and sea and embrace making the most of the moment.
