Saving an Iconic Skate Spot — It's been a hub of skateboarding culture since the 1970s, yet the Undercroft on London's Southbank is currently under threat from re-development plans.

We caught up with Long Live Southbank campaign spokesman Henry Edwards-Wood, who is mobilising the local skateboarding community to save this historic spot, to get his side of the argument.

Under plans issued by the Southbank Centre in March 2013, the renowned Undercroft area would close to make way for cafes and restaurants – with a replacement park proposed for under the Hungerford Bridge nearby.

A consultation for this is currently being held via the We Are Southbank Undercroft website.

Check out our column by Niall Neeson presenting the case to make the best of the Southbank redevelopment plans.
