Winter sees some insane waves breaking against the idyllic Portuguese coastline, with the full force of the Atlantic ocean crashing against the shore.
The legendary surfing conditions in this part of the world are attracting an increasing number of big waves surfers – including 24-year-old Alex Botelho who recently made the pilgrimage from his native Canada.
In this slick edit from Electric, Alex rips hard at top Portuguese spots like Coxos and Superturbos, which come into their own during the winter months.
