When you look at the world through Ichi’s eyes, just about every object – from typewriters to pipes to hatboxes – begins to look like a potential instrument.
Originally from Nagoya, Japan but now based in the UK, Ichi’s desire to invent wasn’t satisfied by combining familiar notes to construct new songs.
Instead, he brings together found objects to build home made instruments and create wholly new sounds.
Everything in Ichi’s musical suitcase has its own tale to tell; nothing is new or was bought.
Each piece was donated by a friend or discovered on his travels and Ichi fuses together their unique sounds and stories to bring his instruments to life.
