Londoners unite to protest the killing of George Floyd

‘The UK is not innocent’ — This week, thousands took to the city’s streets to march against racism and police brutality. Photographer Theo McInnes joined them.

Yesterday, thousands of Londoners took to the streets to protest the killing of George Floyd. The peaceful demonstration, led by the city’s Black Lives Matter movement, saw crowds march from Hyde Park to the gates of Downing Street. During the rally, protestors called for justice – both for Floyd, and for black victims of police brutality around the world.

We headed along to capture the crowds as they crossed the city (you can see our full reported coverage here). Below, photographer Theo McInnes shares some of the more powerful moments of the day.
